Small Groups

We think that everyone should have enough space to enjoy their holidays. Our groups are usually about 10 to 14 people per week.

Cozy Accommodation

You will stay in one of our cozy wooden typical Finnish cottage. All our cottages include a private sauna that you can use as much as you want.

Transportation

We take care of you from the moment you land in the North until the moment you leave. We will wait for you at the Ivalo airport on Tuesdays at 13:30 pm and drop you back at the terminal at the end of your holiday on Sundays by 11:30 am.

Our guides have been with us since we started the company. They are super friendly and know everything about the region. You will be in perfect hands during your holiday.

Northern Lights Chases

Your holidays in Utsjoki includes 3 northern lights chases. We will do our very best to show you the northern lights. 100% of our guests saw the northern lights in the past few seasons.

Optional Activities

Your holiday package already includes all meals and aurora chases. You can book additional optional activities such a husky sled tour, snowmobiling, or hiking/snowhsoeing in the nature.

Note

• The rights to make any change in the scheduled programme OR internal changes in the scheduled itinerary is reserves with the company only. Information will be given from time to time.

• Tour manager has every right to make necessary and required changes in the ongoing tour. He will update the guest at that moment.

• We never deal with flight. Guest can book their own or if the big group demand us for flight, in that case, we will charge it on actual rate + Processing charges. Flight rates are not in our control. A guest has to bear the difference in flight cost while booking if any.

Payment Schedule

• 50% Payment - On the day of registration (As per EUR Rates)

• 30% Payment - 60 days prior to arrival (As per EUR Rates)

• 20% balance Payment - 45 days prior to arrival  (As per EUR Rates)

 

Cancellation/Reschedule Policy

• Up to 90 days: 30% of the total tour cost ora minimum of 400 euros per person is chargeable plus any fare/accommodation and train fare which is non-refundable #

• Up to 60 days: 50% of the total tour cost or a minimum of 500 euros per person is chargeable plus any fare/accommodation and train fare which is non-refundable #

• Up to 30 days: 70% of the total tour cost or a minimum of 1000 euros per person is chargeable plus any fare/accommodation and train fare which is non-refundable #

• After 30 days: no refund (any case, visa refusal, medical emergency etc. also)

• No Show: No Refund

Northern Lights Hunting

Our guides are Northern Lights hunting professionals actively monitoring the Northern Lights and solar activity throughout your trip, ensuring that they are always ready to guide you to the spectacular aurora borealis.

During three evenings (which we will select) of your holiday, our guides will be searching the night skies and seeking for the best possible place from where you will be most likely to see the Northern Lights. Sometimes, the journey isn’t that far at all, as the Northern Lights can occasionally be visible as soon as you step out of your cottage! Through careful analysis and planning, our guides always choose the best nights, places, and times for your Northern Lights hunts.

What would a holiday be, if you didn’t have stunning photos to remember it by? That’s why you will also receive photography guidance and direction from us. Our guides are passionate about photography and will help you take the best shots with your camera, if your camera is suitable for photographing the Northern Lights, as night photography requires certain settings and features that your camera and lenses be capable of. If you have any questions about the Northern Lights prior to your trip, please feel free to contact us. If you are fortunate enough to see the Northern Lights, our guides will gladly take pictures for and of you with the Northern Lights; so that you will get a memory of the Northern Lights even if you don’t have your own camera.

Utsjoki - Stories from Historic and Modern-day Life

As part of your holiday, we want to tell you about local life and history of the area. What better way to do this than to tell you stories about Utsjoki and Sámi culture and show you some local attractions, from past to the present? This program is always planned according to each day’s opportunities and availability.

Feeding the reindeer

As a traditional Sami reindeer herder family, we have some resident reindeer around our resort. During the winter the reindeer are fed every day and as our guest you’ll get to experience what it is like to feed reindeer. You’ll get to join us and the reindeer in their enclosure for the feeding. And if the reindeer are feeling brave, they’ll eat directly out of your hand.

Reindeer are not fully domesticated animals though. As a responsible travel operator we want to respect their natural tendencies and will never force human interaction with them. By nature reindeer do not like to be touched. Unfortunately at some tourist attractions they don’t have a choice on the matter, which causes them a lot of stress and discomfort. When you feed the reindeer with us it is always on the terms of the animals, which makes the experience more memorable when a shy animal chooses to approach you.

Optional activities

During the winter season you can add any or all of the below optional activities to your holiday. The holiday package includes activities for three nights (aurora chasing) and one daytime activity of reindeer feeding. You can opt to spend your days either chilling and relaxing in the resort area or keeping busy experiencing the optional activities we have on offer.

Activity Description

If you have ever wanted to take a trip to the top of the fells and see the beautiful and vast landscape of the Finnish Lapland in the winter, this trip is for you. Together with experienced snowmobile guides, we will take you to see the arctic wilderness on snowmobiles.

SNOWMOBILING

Duration: 3-4 hours including transportation to Nuorgam and back + the ride with the snowmobile
Day: Saturday
Cost: One person per snowmobile, X€ per person. If you don’t want to drive, you can sit as a passenger or in the sled. Price for this is starting from X€ per person (Incl. guide, snacks & warm drinks, fuel, insurance (deductible X€ / snowmobile), helmet and warm clothing if needed)

ABOUT DRIVING A SNOWMOBILE

You can drive a snowmobile in Finland if you are 15+ years old and have at least a T, LT or B category driver’s licence issued in an EU or EEA Member State or if you hold a driving licence issued in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan or a country that has signed the Geneva or Vienna Road Traffic Convention (you can check the countries here. In some occasions you need to present either an international driving permit (IDP) or an official Finnish or Swedish translation of your national licence. Usually you don’t need an IDP, if your licence in written in English and it clearly shows a picture of the driver, ID and the category of your licence. If you are unsure whether you need IDP or not or you have any concerns about the driving licence, don’t hesitate to ask. We are happy to help you.

You must also fulfil the current age requirements for driving in Finland. Your driving licence will be valid regardless of whether you are visiting Finland as a tourist or are a permanent resident.

If you would like to join a snowmobile trip, but you don’t want to or can’t drive a snowmobile yourself or if you have children under 15, let us know. We will then do our best to arrange a trip everyone can join.
